Dr. Gausul Azam (Ranju) conceptualized and proposed “Robo Rehab”—Bangladesh’s first robotic rehabilitation initiative—through the ICT Division’s Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG 2021) under the iDEA Project, marking the country’s earliest formal concept integrating robotics with physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Robo Rehab introduced a visionary model combining robotic rehabilitation, bionics, neurotechnology, and virtual reality to advance physiotherapy into the AI-driven era of intelligent rehabilitation. His continuing mission is to integrate ethical, research-based, and technology-driven solutions to make rehabilitation more inclusive and future-ready.
