Dr. Gausul Azam (Ranju) conceptualized and proposed “Robo Rehab”—Bangladesh’s first robotic rehabilitation initiative—through the ICT Division’s Bangabandhu Innovation Grant (BIG 2021) under the iDEA Project, marking the country’s earliest formal concept integrating robotics with physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Robo Rehab introduced a visionary model combining robotic rehabilitation, bionics, neurotechnology, and virtual reality to advance physiotherapy into the AI-driven era of intelligent rehabilitation. His continuing mission is to integrate ethical, research-based, and technology-driven solutions to make rehabilitation more inclusive and future-ready.
Dr. Gausul Azam (Ranju) is dedicated to advancing ethical rehabilitation through integrated research, policy, and practice. His focus includes rehabilitation ethics and jurisprudence, research ethics, and disability ethics practice. He contributes to policy, planning, and guideline development, promoting accountability and justice in rehabilitation. With a vision for curriculum development and future integration, he aims to strengthen professional ethics, management, and evidence-based regulations framework development. His work aspires to build an inclusive and ethically guided rehabilitation system that upholds human dignity and shapes responsible innovation in the evolving era of rehabilitation science.
